Appartment, Antwerp, 2004-2008

Transformation of an investment property to three units, with the two lower ones combined into a single unit for a law firm. The property is located in a historically valuable area of Antwerp, near the Museum of Fine Arts and the new courthouse. The client is a Belgian top model, primarily residing in New York City (NYC), but landing regularly in her home port (A). The concept for the design emerges out of the polarization and confrontation of the two extremities, on the one hand the volatile, trendy and rapidly changing culture of the fashion world and on the other the historic district with its deeply rooted, stable, traditional elements.
